That's smart because when properly implemented social media can be a very powerful tool when generating the right traffic to your website. However, it can also be very frustrating. Getting followers on Facebook and Twitter can be challenging. Getting followers and viewers to share your posts among their networks can be a difficult task to accomplish. There is good news: there are things you can do to help make your posts more attractive and more likely to be shared, thus increasing their effectiveness. You can accomplish your social media goals and this article will help guide you through that process.

The easiest way to greatly increase the performance of your social media post is using visuals. It's that simple. Research has indicated that using pictures in your social media posts can increase the chances of your post being shared by almost 40x.  That's incredible and that's not all. Here are some other stats about social media posts that you probably didn't know:

  1. Facebook posts with images are 2.3x more likely to see engagement compared to those without
    • Engagement includes comments, sharing and clicking/viewing your post - this is a big part of what you're trying to achieve!
  2. Infographics are liked and shared 3.0x times more than other types of social media posts

  3. Buffer, the social media management platform, has reported that among it's user base - tweets with images have received 150% more retweets than those without!

Needless to say images are powerful. There is never a time when adding one to your post isn't helpful. Always add a visual to your post and try to make it relevant to the content or topic at hand. Research has also shown that relevant images greatly increase the click-through rate of the post. It's important not to just add an image to add an image, but to make it relevant as well. Attach relevant images and watch the performance of your posts skyrocket!
